You can decide on which events that you are interested in and concentrate on those or even specialize in just one. U11 athletes (school years 4 and 5) may only participate in sprints, endurance, shot putt and long jump.

Club nights are on Tuesday (depending on which session, between 6pm-8.30pm) and Thursday (6.30pm-8.30pm) at the Tabor Leisure Centre athletics track, Panfield Lane, Braintree CM7 1FF.
Training times are listed here, updated for 2018.

There is also a Tuesday night 5k and 10k road run at 19:15 from the track, catering for all abilities. Contact Stuart Phillips if interested. There are a few rules here to ensure everyone's safety.

Sportshall has now ceased until the Autumn. The sessions start at 7pm and last for an hour and run every Thursday throughout the winter. The sessions are held in the sports hall at Tabor and athletes need to congregate in the reception area from approx 6.50pm onwards.
Sportshall athletics is an indoor form of track and field for children. It was created to provide a safe and warm environment for young athletes to train during the cold and dark winter months. The program focuses on fitness and multi-skill development providing a grounding for all sports. It is totally inclusive, encourages children to get fit and promotes friendship whilst having lots of fun. Activities include standing long jump, standing triple jump, vertical jump, shuttle run, hi-stepper, target throw and speed bounce.
The athletes individual results are accurately recorded each week and are converted into points. Awards are presented to successful athletes at the annual Club Awards evening.
PLEASE NOTE THAT WE ARE ALWAYS SHORT OF VOLUNTEERS TO HELP RUN THESE SESSIONS. AS SUCH IF ANY PARENT WANTS TO HELP PLEASE DO NOT BE SHY IN COMING FORWARD. In addition to the club competition, Essex Athletics Network also run a series of competitions and more details can be found here

Training Fees

When it comes to Training Fees, there are a two options available

Option 1:

BDAC allows the athletes, if they wish, to pay prior to each training session

All Athletes: £3.00 per session

Option 2

Alternatively, BDAC encourages all of its members to setup a Standing Order to pay for training fees.

Those who take up this option are able to make savings if you train regularly. (Based on potential annual savings when compared with 2 x weekly sessions in summer and 1 x weekly session in winter.)

All Athletes: £10.00 per month (Monthly Standing Order)
