Medals Galore At Eastern Champs

A Trio from Braintree & District Athletic Club scooped five medals between them at the Eastern AA Track and Field Championships, held in Cambridge.

James Murphy claimed the silver medal with a throw of 32.77 metres in the under -15 boys' javelin. He then secured bronze, with an impressive distance of 4.85 metres in the long jump. Both were well earned personal bests.

Under-15 girl Elle Cockell threw the hammer a personal best distance of 34.87 metres to take the gold medal and gained bronze in the javelin with 17.84 metres.

Sister Chloe claimed the bronze medal with a throw of 21.65 metres in the under-17 women's javelin and just missed out on the medals in the hammer with 31.07 metres.

A further five silver medals and one bronze medal were gained by other Braintree & District A C athletes.

Amy Coleman 100m 14.76s, long jump 3.45m silver.

Under-15 girls:

Ellie Savva 100m 13.61s, long jump 4.98m silver.

Under-17 women:

Kirsty Ronald 100m 13.15s, long jump 4.98m.

Clarice Parrott long jump 5.33m silver.

Senior women:

Lana Gillard long jump 4.88m silver.

Under-13 boys:

Morgan Thompson 75m hurdles 16.35s, long jump 3.84m, shot 5.23m silver.

Under-15 boys:

Andrew Ronald 100m 17.91s, 1500m 6:33.81min bronze.

Lewis Thorn 100m 13.85s, 200m 28.92s, long jump 4.33m.
