Jill Rush Takes Wins Medals in the Harlow 10

25/07/2010

A fantastic run by Jill Rush rewarded the Braintree Athletic runner with the fourth lady overall prize in the Harlow 10 mile road race on Sunday. She completed the course in 68m 35s, a PB by 18 seconds.

The race, which is part of the Essex Road Running Championships, also saw Jill win third place County medals in both the Senior Lady and Veteran Lady categories, an astounding achievement.

Regarded as a very tough course with long uphill stretches, this is generally not regarded as a race for PBs, although the sun mercifully stayed behind the clouds for the duration of the event.

Second in for the club was Stewart Ellis in 69m 40s with Wayne Bulleid, just back from injury, just three minutes behind in a Personal Best of 72m 41s

Lindsay Rolerkite found the conditions tough as she dipped under 80 minutes by 10 seconds.

Helen Francis completed a strong field for Braintree with a time of 83m 40s, just a few seconds outside her PB.

On Wednesday evening, 9 year old James Sandford ran the "Skylarks 3k ", organised by the Pitsea Running Club, in Wickford country park. He came in as first boy in 16m 47s just in front of his father Richard, a great prospect for the future.
