Great Yarmouth Half Marathon

15/08/2010

Three Braintree & District Athletes took to the East Coast on Sunday to compete in the Great Yarmouth Half Marathon.

The undulating course made its way through Gorleston, Browston and Lound.

In cool weather, but thankfully without the threatening rain, a strong field of 280 runners took to the course.

The event was well organised, with people coming from all over the country and, in at least three cases, overseas.

The winner was Gavin Davies from Ipswich Jaffa in a time of 1:14:58.

For Braintree Stewart Ellis ran his first half marathon in a very respectable time of 1h 35m 16s.

Paul Miller set a Personal Best of 1h 45m 16s, while Trevor Sibley ran 1h 51m 22s.
