Allen Sets the Tone for a PB Busting Stebbing 10

14/11/2010

The annual Remembrance Day Stebbing 10 mile race took place on Sunday in cold and rainy conditions.

This rural course is a popular event on the road racing calendar, and Braintree's representatives were rewarded with some fantastic performances.

First home for the club was Gavin Allen who recorded an astounding PB of 57m 29s, giving him 6th place overall.

Clearly he was not going to outdone by his son Luke's fine performance the day before!

He was followed by Stewart Ellis who smashed his PB with 65m 20s.

More PBs as Lee Cousins followed on from his cross country the day before with 70m 24s.

In his first race over the distance, Ross Boyer did 73m 41s.

Next came Myles Coulson who completed the course within his target, in 74m 44s, hotly pursued by Ryan Askew, with a great PB of 74m 52s.

Phoenix Green finished fast after a cautious first 5 miles to complete the course in 76m.

First home for the ladies Lindsay Rolerkite ran a PB of 76m 54s.

Helen Francis was second lady home in a PB of 82m.

Then came Richard Sandford in 82m 51s and Joe McEwan in 83m 07s.

Sandra Green ran an excellent 90m 40s.

A bad calf injury did not prevent Tim Gould from finishing the course in 105m 07s.
