A few of our endurance runners were in action on the roads at the weekend.

The Essex 20 Mile Road Race took place on Sunday at Great Bromley near Colchester.

In very cold conditions, but on a good flat course, Lee Cousins smashed his personal best by over 4 minutes, finishing in 2hrs 29m 33s.

Trevor Sibley finished in a big PB of 2h 56m 30s.

Ryan Askew completed the course in 3h 6m 13s, followed by Lisa Pohl in 3h 23m 37s and Freya Francis in 3h 31m 55s.

Simon Mennell and Gavin Allen ventured to the South Downs to the Steyning Stinger off road half marathon.

This is a very tough and hilly course, and great preparation for Spring Marathons.

They ran together, completing the course in 1h 51m 16s.

Meanwhile, Stewart Ellis took the long trip to the North West to take part in the Blackpool 10k race.

Stewart was pleased to get under 40 minutes with a fine time of 39m 33s.
