Martlesham Heath 10k and Southend 10k

Braintree AC Gavin Allen took part in the Martlesham Heath 10K road race today.
This was a hugely popular and very well organised event with the majority of athletes club runners.
Gavin finished in a fine position of 4th in a time of 35:30.
Alongside the main event was the 2.5K race which also proved as popular boasting almost 100 competitors.
Braintrees Luke Allen was on super form racing ahead at the start with the lead group of much older athletes.
Allen showed his stamina and paced the race well to maintain his position all the way round to secure him 4th position and winning him the trophy for 1st under 11.
In the Southend 10k Wayne Bulleid put in a fantastic performance to complete the course in 41m 05s.
This placed him 122nd out of a field of 1460 runners, and 27th in his age group.
Jessica Bulleid and rookie junior Ryan Kelly both competed in the 3k supporting race.
Jessica and Ryan finished together in 57th and 58th place respecitvely in a time of 12m 06s.
